For us at Aebi Schmidt, helping airports in keeping their operations safe and efficient – in every season and every climate – is at the core of our Airport Business. To further strengthen our support for airport operators worldwide, we welcomed two new colleagues to our global Airport team earlier this year.
Based in China and Europe, Elva Duan and Morten Sandungen have been working closely with airport customers across their regions since joining the team, helping them find the right solutions for their operational needs.
Strong presence in Asia-Pacific
Since January, Elva Duan has joined Aebi Schmidt as Manager / Sales LSO China & Asia Pacific, based in our Beijing office. With a strong understanding of the local markets, she will support airport customers across one of the world’s fastest-growing aviation regions. For Elva, the airport segment is particularly exciting because it combines technology, safety and operational reliability.
"Chinese airports are navigating a unique set of pressures — rapid network expansion, tightening localization procurement policies, and increasingly extreme winter weather — all at the same time. Being able to offer solutions that combine Aebi Schmidt's European engineering standards with locally compliant assembly is something I find both meaningful and strategically important." says Elva. "My goal is to work side by side with airport operators across China and APAC to deeply understand their specific winter operational challenges, and bridge that with Aebi Schmidt's global expertise in runway safety and airfield maintenance — so we are seen not just as a supplier, but as a long-term partner in keeping runways safe."
Supporting airport customers in Europe
At the same time, Morten Sandungen has joined the team as Area Sales Manager Airport, responsible for airport customers in Germany, Denmark, and Norway. With extensive experience in the international airport business and first-hand knowledge of Norway’s challenging winter conditions, he is well equipped to support airports for this challenging season.
"Airports in northern regions operate under very challenging winter conditions. But no matter where because of safety, they have extremely high standards when it comes to performance and reliability," says Morten. "Working closely with customers to ensure they have the right equipment and support is what makes this role so rewarding."
His focus will be on strengthening partnerships with airport operators and supporting them with solutions tailored to their local operational requirements. "Understanding how airports work on a daily basis is key. With my experience, my goal is to be a trusted partner – even in the toughest conditions."
