Purchasing
The Aebi Schmidt Group’s purchasing department meets the daily material needs of our production sites in Poland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, the U.S., and Finland, as well as our customers’ spare parts requirements. Only through seamless cooperation among the various locations and reliable suppliers can the Aebi Schmidt Group ensure consistently high product quality.
The Aebi Schmidt Group’s procurement department is traditionally divided into operational and strategic procurement:
Operational procurement handles day-to-day order processing and procurement logistics to ensure that goods are delivered at the right time, to the right place, in the right quantity, and at the right price.
The strategic division, on the other hand, focuses on supplier and contract management, product group strategies, innovation and project support, price negotiations, logistics, and the structuring of terms and conditions.
Product Groups
All purchasing requirements are structured and allocated through an internal product group management system.
Group-wide supplier and product strategies are consistently pursued through a lead buyer concept. The focus is on high-quality components at globally competitive prices.
Sustainable Supplier Management
When selecting new suppliers, the relevant companies are audited to assess key quality, compliance, and environmental issues, as well as basic requirements.
The basis for collaboration with Aebi Schmidt is the Terms and Conditions of Purchase or an individually negotiated framework supply agreement. Suppliers are evaluated through an internal supplier management system, and risks to the supply chain are assessed.
The Aebi Schmidt Group requires its suppliers and partners to consistently adhere to the Code of Conduct, implement the defined environmental requirements, and proactively pursue environmentally conscious process improvements—such as the use of reusable packaging and eco-friendly packaging materials.
Purchasing as a Driver of Innovation
In Purchasing, we see ourselves as a partner to the Development Department in the implementation of product and customer projects. In this role, we actively participate in the development of new products and the optimization of costs. The early involvement of innovative and competent suppliers ensures the implementation of this strategy, as well as the use of state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies and components that meet the highest technical standards.
