A Day of Insights and Exchange
The programme on June 12th brought together guests from across the UK and beyond – including fleet managers, industry experts and local partners. The day opened with a welcome speech by the Mayor of Peterborough, Councillor Judy Fox, followed by a series of short, sharp talks on topics shaping our industry: electrification, safety, procurement and autonomous operations.
Speakers from Islington Council, SM UK, TPPL, South Cave Tractors, Motus Commercials and the Aebi Schmidt Group shared practical experience and outlooks for the future. One highlight: the unveiling of the new electric municipal transporter LADOG E1400 – a recent innovation from the Black Forest-based company LADOG, now part of the Aebi Schmidt Group. Another: the airport winter maintenance simulators – set up exclusively for the day and in constant use.
More Than a Facility
The new Centre of Technical Excellence and production facility at our UK headquarters in Peterborough marks a step forward for Aebi Schmidt in the UK. It’s a visible sign of our long-term commitment to supporting municipal and airport operations. The site brings production, logistics and technical functions together – and with the available space now doubled compared to our previous facilities, it’s already creating new jobs locally and across the UK, particularly for our growing team of service technicians.
More than anything, the Open Day showed the power of connection – between people, ideas and machines. To all who joined us: thank you for being part of it. And if you missed it or want to take another look, our After-Event Video captures the highlights in under two minutes.
