It would be somewhat presumptuous to describe the district to which the Black Forest Power Region refers as an economic metropolis. It is undeniably important economically and also offers cultural treasures, culinary delights and impressive natural experiences. This combination makes the region an attractive location for investment, living and tourism.
Black Forest Power Region at the top in Germany
The study by Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts concluded that the density of "hidden champions" in the region is significantly higher than in other economic regions in Germany. The study clearly defines what a "hidden champion" must fulfil: A TOP3 ranking in terms of market position worldwide or TOP1 ranking regionally, a turnover of between 5 million and 5 billion euros and the level of public awareness must be rather low.
LADOG can proudly call itself a "hidden champion"
With its long tradition and success story in the municipal technology sector, LADOG is certainly not "hidden", but the industry is more of a niche in the public eye. The "hidden champion" award recognises outstanding achievements that are not in the public spotlight. What's more, a "hidden champion" is characterised by the fact that it masters complex management challenges, is open to internationalisation, develops customer-centric products and impresses with operational excellence. This is how the representative of the business development organisation describes it.
