First Street King 660 goes to customer in Saxony-Anhalt (Germany)

In May the mounted sweeper Street King 660 of Schmidt was firstly presented at IFAT in Munich. Now in mid of October the first two machines have been delivered in Germany. From now on the two powerful sweepers will be cleaning the streets of the cathedral city Zeitz, operated by SSBZ “Stadtreinigungs- und Servicebetrieb Zeitz GmbH”. Elmar Wilms, responsible for product presentations, was in charge of the instruction of the new machine. Mr. Hermann of the SSBZ is an experienced Schmidt sweeper driver. A Schmidt SK650 with interchangeable body modules is already in use since 16 years for the winter service in Zeitz. Nevertheless the Street King 660 is waiting with some novelties to be discovered.

The new operating concept of the ES series with 7“ colour touch screen and joystick for basic functions integrated in the door control panel provide maximum operating comfort. The adjustment of the display brightness works automatically via light sensor. Special importance is attached to easy and straightforward operation with few operating elements. A lot of commands are controlled automatically. The logical menu navigation requires only little attention for operating the sweeper, making it possible for the driver to fully focus on the road and the traffic. The optional TFT monitor for up to 3 cameras enables an all-round vision improving security when maneuvering even on narrow roads.

Furthermore, the suction and sweeping unit was part of the introduction.

The suction nozzle with integrated brush roller and the high-performance suction fan ensure optimum dirt collection, permitting up to 15% higher operating speeds compared to other models. The aerodynamic hopper, air flow and leaf screen create a cyclone effect in the hopper, making it possible to fill the hopper to 100% and thus eliminating the need for frequent trips to the landfill. A generously dimensioned water tank with 1,600 l capacity permits extended sweeping operations. Optionally the water volume can be regulated quickly and easily on the ES control panel in 3 steps. In addition, the individual water nozzles can be switched on and off via the touch screen.

We wish the team in Zeitz a good start with the two new Street King 660 sweepers and always a safe ride.
