Successful TECMA Debut: Schmidt Ladog Multi-Purpose Transporters Generate Strong Interest in Spain

TECMA, held in Madrid, is one of Southern Europe's leading trade fairs for urban services, environmental solutions, and municipal equipment. Taking place every two years, the event brings together municipalities, service providers, and industry experts to showcase the latest innovations for a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable future. For Aebi Schmidt Ibérica, this year's edition marked the first major public presentation of Ladog multi-purpose transporters in Spain, a key milestone in strengthening the company’s portfolio for the Spanish market.

A strong introduction

With increasing demand for year-round municipal and infrastructure maintenance, operators are actively seeking versatile and efficient equipment that can cover multiple applications within a single platform.

The Ladog transporter directly addresses this need by combining compact design, high manoeuvrability, and multi-function capability in one vehicle solution. This flexibility makes it equally suitable for dense urban environments and large infrastructure sites.

A Schmidt Ladog T 1700 equipped with a Nothhelfer N30 scrubbing application was on display and quickly became a focal point of interest. Airport operators, municipal service providers, and infrastructure maintenance teams showed particular interest in its ability to deliver reliable cleaning performance across a wide range of surfaces.

Innovative cleaning solutions from AMS

Alongside the Ladog vehicles, the stand also featured a selection of Schmidt sweeping machines, highlighting the breadth of the portfolio for municipal and infrastructure cleaning applications. This was further complemented by the new AMS BL1, a bilateral side loader designed for single-operator collection.

Building on the success of the CL1, AMS expands its range with the BL1 and brings its proven approach of simplicity, durability, and low operating costs into a bilateral system. The BL1 allows container collection on both sides of the vehicle, which increases flexibility in urban operations and helps reduce unnecessary manoeuvring during daily routes.

At the heart of the system is a straightforward and robust crane lifting mechanism with durable components designed for easy maintenance. This ensures reliable operation, high availability, and efficient servicing over the entire service life.

The BL1 has already proven its performance under real-world conditions, winning the prestigious waste management contract in Florence after successfully passing the tests conducted by the city.

Strong market signal from TECMA

TECMA provided an effective platform for high-quality discussions with municipalities, contractors and airport operators. The level of interest and technical engagement confirmed the relevance of integrated and flexible solutions for modern maintenance.

"TECMA was a great success for Aebi Schmidt Ibérica. We had many valuable conversations and received extremely positive feedback on our solutions. The introduction of the Schmidt Ladog multi-purpose transporters generated significant interest and confirmed the strong potential for these vehicles in the Spanish market. The demonstrations already scheduled following the exhibition are an encouraging sign, and we are excited to build on the momentum created at TECMA in the months ahead," says Oscar Martirena Fernandez, CEO of Aebi Schmidt Ibérica.

The strong interest shown during the exhibition confirms a clear trend in the Spanish market towards versatile, high-performance vehicle concepts that deliver value across all seasons and applications.
