The Story Behind the IBS-Mounted Cement Mixer
While cement mixer bodies have been used on IBS trucks before, integrating one onto a SPIF-compliant axle chassis is a first. “By adapting the IBS to accommodate a mixer body, we’ve opened the door for operators to get more productivity out of the trucks they already own—without compromising safety, compliance, or performance,” said Dave McCullough, Director of Sales at Aebi Schmidt Canada. The project was driven by customer demand for a mixer solution that would integrate seamlessly with existing IBS-equipped trucks and complement fleets already operating a wide range of Aebi Schmidt snow and construction equipment.
One Truck, Many Possibilities
The strength of this combination comes from pairing the trusted 6 m³ London Cement Mixer with Aebi Schmidt’s patented IBS system. With one experienced operator and no special tools, the truck can be converted from a mixer to a dump body in approximately 15 minutes. The new mixer option is ideal for contractors and fleet operators who need concrete capability but can’t justify dedicating a full-time mixer truck. For those with seasonal or intermittent mixer use, IBS offers a more cost-effective, flexible approach that keeps trucks working instead of sitting idle.

How Does This Versatile Body System Fit into a Fleet?
The new IBS-mounted cement mixer can be used as a dedicated unit for concrete projects while retaining the flexibility to adapt to other roles as needed. By swapping the mixer for a dump body, the same truck can support excavation, groundwork, hauling, and concrete work throughout the year, maximizing utilization and reducing the need for specialized, single-purpose vehicles.
The IBS platform also supports a wide range of additional bodies, including spreaders, tanks, refuse units, and flat decks, allowing one truck to take on multiple roles across seasons. The result is a highly efficient, multifunctional workhorse that enhances overall fleet performance.
IBS enables fast, safe body changes with minimal training and virtually no downtime.
“What excites us most about the IBS-mounted cement mixer isn’t just the mixer itself, it’s the added flexibility it brings to our customers,” said Jocelyn Romain, CEO of Aebi Schmidt Canada. “Every addition to the IBS platform is designed to help operators do more with the assets they already have, giving fleets the freedom to adapt and stay productive in every season.”

The IBS-mounted cement mixer isn’t just a new product, it’s a smarter, more adaptable way forward. It’s one more example of how Aebi Schmidt Canada continues helping customers get more work and more value out of every truck they own.
