Built for durability, Monroe tailgate spreaders feature rugged 7-gauge troughs with fully welded sides and ends. Available in mild steel or corrosion-resistant stainless steel, the construction is made to reliably handle sand and salt. Depending on the model variant, additional materials may also be supported, such as gravel or chip.

Monroe tailgate spreaders offer three robust drive options to match different operational needs and maintenance preferences.

• Chain Drive systems use a durable #60 chain with a 2.6:1 ratio, protected by a one-piece chain guard that can be removed tool-free for easy service. This classic design is reliable but requires regular maintenance.
• Direct Drive configurations feature a low-speed, high-torque hydraulic motor mounted directly to the auger. This setup delivers higher performance and reduced maintenance costs by eliminating intermediate components.
• Gearbox Drive options provide a 5:1 reduction with a directly attached motor and auger connection. Ideal for precise material application, this system offers improved control at low spread rates and includes a thru-shaft for easy spread rate sensor integration.

Monroe tailgate spreaders offer a variety of discharge configurations to adapt to different roadway and application needs.

One-Way and Reverse Flight setups provide directional control for targeted spreading, while the Center Discharge option enables balanced material distribution directly behind the vehicle. For added flexibility, Dual Discharge allows material to be spread to either the left or right side as needed. The Twin Spinner configuration is ideal for wide coverage and symmetrical spreading, ensuring maximum efficiency on larger roadways.

Monroe tailgate spreaders offer a range of spinner configurations to match different spreading needs and mounting styles. Choose from the Standard Self-Leveling Spinner with Stabilizer Rod for enhanced stability, or a Self-Leveling Spinner without Stabilizer Rod for simplified movement and flexibility. Stationary Bumper Mount Spinners are available for one-way dual discharge setups, while the Accu-Place Spinner delivers precise material placement for optimized coverage. Spinner disc options include 18" poly for corrosion resistance and 18" mild steel for heavy-duty durability.

The Seal Saver is designed to help eliminate the issue of sand, salt, or other granular products migrating into the motor seal on spinner assemblies. The complete system includes a hydraulic motor with extended shaft and a machined poly spacer featuring a grease groove and zerk fitting. Regular greasing forces out contaminants and protects the motor seal, significantly extending service life.

The Monroe Under Tailgate Spreader is built for strength, reliability, and all-around performance. It features a 7-gauge carbon or stainless steel trough with continuously welded sides and ends for maximum durability. The unit includes a 6" auger with 3/8" flighting, and optional spinner disc assembly for flexible discharge. With your choice of direct, hydraulic, or gearbox drive systems, and the ability to mount directly to the dump body, this spreader offers a low-profile, efficient solution for precise material control in winter operations.

The Monroe Rollspreader is a cost-effective, gravity-fed solution ideal for spreading free-flowing materials. Mounted inside the dump body, it features a trough constructed from 7-gauge carbon or stainless steel, with 1/4" thick ends for added durability. A sloped trough bottom and mechanical flow gate control allow for smooth material discharge, while the spreader’s roll-top design makes it easy to load and maintain. With fewer moving parts and no auger system, the Rollspreader is a low-maintenance choice for basic material spreading needs.

The Monroe Replacement Tailgate Spreader is engineered to replace an existing dump body tailgate, delivering full spreading functionality without the need for additional mounting hardware or brackets. The hopper width is designed and built to customer specifications to ensure the spreader fits the existing dump body. It includes integrated hinge points and lift hooks for quick, direct installation. A 6" auger with 3/8" flighting ensures effective material handling, while the hinged trough simplifies cleanout and maintenance. It’s a practical solution for operations needing full spreading capabilities in a streamlined, drop-in format.

The Monroe Rear Cross Conveyor Spreader is a highly versatile solution designed to handle all types of aggregate, hot mix, and even soil. It features a 24“ wide pintle chain conveyor that delivers material to a left- or right-side spinner or chute, providing even, controlled discharge across the rear of the vehicle. Built with a 7-gauge conveyor body and equipped with hinged belt shields and a fold-up chute, this spreader offers durability and easy service access.
