A New Hub for Capability, Scale, and Customer Support: Inside the Joliet Supercenter Open House

Aebi Schmidt Group’s Joliet Supercenter represents a major step forward in how commercial and municipal equipment is built, serviced, and supported in North America.

Established as a centralized hub for efficiency and customer proximity, the Joliet, IL Supercenter brings multiple products and service lines under one roof. More than 30 years of Monroe presence in the region laid the foundation for the Supercenter, now strategically positioned to meet rising customer demand, accommodate larger equipment, and support future growth.

From Vision to Reality

Planning for the Joliet Supercenter began more than two years ago, with location as the primary focus. The Midwest location provides strong access to fleets, municipalities, and commercial operators throughout the region, helping reduce downtime and improve service responsiveness.

From early site selection onward, every decision supported a customer-focused objective: creating a facility to improve efficiency, responsiveness, and service support. With large open build bays and an optimized production flow, the facility efficiently supports a wide range of equipment builds and service operations.

Today, the facility is fully operational and supports commercial and municipal truck upfitting, airport runway maintenance equipment, pavement striping equipment, street sweepers, slope tractors, and utility vans. This includes MB Airport, MB Pavement, Schmidt Sweepers, Aebi slope tractors, Royal, Duramag, Monroe, and Utilimaster, reinforcing a unified group built on shared capability and customer focus.

Beyond production and service, the facility also includes a large training and conference center set to host employee development sessions, customer meetings, and leadership events, reinforcing its role as both an operational and collaborative hub.

The Joliet Supercenter plays a key role in the broader North American strategy for the Aebi Schmidt Group. Centrally located in the Midwest, it improves proximity to major fleet customers, strengthens service response times, and offers additional supporting amenities.

Showcasing the Facility: The Open House Event

The recent open house marked the first major opportunity to highlight the new facility, bringing together a broad mix of municipal and commercial customers, dealers and distributors, fleet managers and purchasing teams, and government and agency representatives.

Guests toured the facility, observed production flow lines, and experienced firsthand the scale and organization of the operation.

Additionally, the open house hosted the monthly Chicago Ford Truck Club meeting, bringing together local Ford dealers from across the Chicago market, Ford representatives, and representatives from BOSS Snowplow.

The meeting served as both a networking opportunity and a product showcase, highlighting the collaborative relationship between OEMs, upfitters, dealers, and equipment providers throughout the vocational truck industry.

Attendees participated in walk-around presentations featuring Service Pro XP Service Bodies, the new Boss Cold Front plows and VBX+ spreaders, and available Reading RM-45 crane packages currently in stock.

Hosting the meeting during the open house further reinforced the Supercenter’s role as a central gathering point for industry collaboration, training, and partnership.

Looking Ahead: Growth and Opportunity

The open house reinforced a simple but powerful message: the Joliet Supercenter exists to serve customers.

As the Supercenter scales operations, the focus shifts to staffing, training, and supporting a growing production schedule. Success over the first 6–12 months will be defined by operational stability, workforce development, and consistent customer delivery performance.

At its core, the Joliet Supercenter is a model for future Aebi Schmidt Group locations across the United States. It demonstrates what’s possible when customer proximity, operational efficiency, and multi-brand capability come together in an intentional, purpose-built environment.

Whether a complex upfit, equipment service, or long-term fleet support: every project matters. The focus remains on delivering dependable solutions and building long-term partnerships.
