Mixing chamber distribution system Premiumplus

Good lateral distribution of the gritting material even at higher speeds is the prerequisite for effective winter service. Optimum wetting of the salt and the appropriate amount of gritting material are important prerequisites to achieve a good spreading pattern. The new Premiumplus spreading discs with mixing chamber combine these criteria.

The mixing chamber principle in detail

The salt is conducted to the mixing disc via the stainless steel chute. The brine is added via the brine pipe to wet the salt grains. The optimum mixture of salt and liquid is created in the mixing chamber by using the centrifugal force and the rotary motion.

The optimum wetting of the salt ensures perfect adhesion on the road surface. As a result of this, the spread material is optimally used and the loss of gritting material reduced. In combination with the even distribution of gritting material over the entire spreading width, the Premiumplus spreading disc thus provides for increased traffic safety and is friendly to the environment and the budget at the same time.

Weighing system: Trust – but verify!

Is the spreader not overloaded? How high is the gritting material consumption? Is the amount of salt sufficient for additional 20 km? The new weighing system by Schmidt knows the answer to all these questions. During the loading process, the amount of gritting material is measured by four weighing sensors. The pressure sensor and the flow sensor in the tanks allows for weighing dry material and liquid separately. Hence, the maximum loading capacity of the spreader is no longer exceeded and wear as well as breakage due to overload are prevented. Furthermore, the weighing system constantly conducts target-actual comparisons during every spreading operation and issues warnings

in case of deviations. All information is clearly displayed on the CL control panel. The driver is able to directly read off the residual amount and the operational range as well. At the end of the spreading operation, all salt consumption data can be read out and analysed.

Wireless control: CX/CL Comfort & Comfortplus

Easy and rapid assembly and disassembly without wiring between the lorry and the spreader and the same degree of safety as in wired control systems: this is what the new CX/CL Comfort control system by Schmidt offers.

The CX/CL Comfort kit consists of two wireless modules – one located on the spreader and the other in the driver’s cab. The two modules communicate with each other wirelessly by radio.

Once the two modules are synchronised, they form one unit. Crosstalks between the spreaders are thus prevented. This makes the system just as safe as a wired solution.

The CX/CL Comfort kit can be extended by its own power supply unit, so that a completely wireless control system is formed: the CX/CL Comfortplus kit.
