Management Board

The CEO is in charge of the management of the ASH Group. Under his direction, the Management Board deals with all relevant issues, makes decisions within the limits of its authority and files proposals to the Board of Directors. The Division Managers  are  responsible for the development and achievement of their entrepreneurial goals and the independent management of their divisions. The Board of Directors appoints the Management Board; the CEO is entitled to file proposals. The board meeting is convened if requested by a member or if a meeting is necessary, usually once a month.

    Barend Fruithof (CEO)

    Barend Fruithof

    Barend Fruithof is a skilled farmer and holds a degree as Executive MBA of the University of St. Gallen. He began his professional career in agricultural enterprises before he completed a successful career in the banking sector. In addition to further management functions, he worked for Raiffeisen Switzerland as financial officer and was head of the  Credit Suisse's corporate banking business for seven years.

    Barend Fruithof took over as the CEO of ASH Group on 1 March 2017.

    Barend Fruithof was born in 1967. In his leisure time he is passionate about doing sport (golf,skiing, jogging).  He loves to travel and to visit foreign countries to discover cultures and he likes to spend time with friends.

    Thomas Schenkirsch (CFO)

    Thomas Schenkirsch

    Thomas Schenkirsch holds a degree in business administration. Before starting to work for the ASH Group, he gained extensive experience in various functions at Von Roll Management AG in Switzerland as well as at PerkinElmer in Switzerland and at various locations abroad. Thomas Schenkirsch has been working for the ASH Group as Director Group Controlling for nine years and already successfully served as the interim CFO from June 2016 to February 2017.

    Thomas Schenkirsch took over as the CFO of ASH Group on 1 April 2017.

    Thomas Schenkirsch, was born in 1975. He likes to travel and he is a wine expert. He is sporty and likes to go jogging and playing badminton.

    Rudi Rosenkamp (CCO Dealer / Airports)

    Rudi Rosenkamp

    Rudi Rosenkamp studied electronics and business management. His career at our company started already in 1986 as customer service manager at Nido Universal Machines BV, the present-day Aebi Schmidt Nederland BV. In 2002 he moved to the management of the Schmidt Group and took over the function of after sales central division manager. From 2004 to 2008 he was responsible for the management of the sales organisation in the Netherlands as well as the support of selected French key accounts. In 2008 he assumed responsibility within the Aebi Schmidt division management board for the international service department. Two years later this area of responsibility was expanded by the division management of direct international sales (Europe).

    On 1 July 2013 Rudi Rosenkamp, as CCO of ASH Group, took over the responsibility for sales, marketing, customer service and spare parts.  

    Since 1 October 2016 he is responsible as CCO for Markets & Sales Europe.

    Since 1 June 2017 he is responsible as CCO for the business area Dealer / Airports.

    Rudi Rosenkamp, born in 1963, is married and father of 2 children. He supervises the local football team in his free time.

    Christian Stryffeler (CCO Local Sales Organisation)

    Christian Stryffeler

    Christian Stryffeler studied chemistry, vocational education and business management (SKU). Christian Stryffeler has several years of international experience in successful company integration, the restructuring of company shares and corporate turnarounds. His diverse expertise is based on many years of work in various industry sectors. Following 14 years of involvement in the pharmaceutical and chemical sector, he gained 11 years of experience in the mechanical engineering industry, including 10 years as member of the group management of a Swiss internationally operating, family-managed company engaged in the construction machinery industry.

    He took over the management of Aebi Schmidt International AG in 2016.

    Since 01 October 2016, Christian Stryffeler is responsible as CCO of ASH Group for Markets & Sales Global / Airport.

    Since 01 June 2017, he is responsible as CCO for Local Sales Organisation.

    In his leisure time, he enjoys doing sports on a regular basis (ice hockey, jogging, skiing and mountain climbing). Christian Stryffeler, born in 1964, is a father of three children.

    Johannes Schade (CPO)

    Johannes Schade graduated in Business Administration and Engineering and gained an additional MBA degree. In 2004, he started his professional career at tesa Werk Offenburg GmbH before joining Hella KGaA Hueck & Co. in Lippstadt in 2008. From 2008 – 2012, he was responsible for Business Development and worked as Project Manager Wholesale / Strategy and Expansion. In 2012, he was appointed to President of Hella Ireland Ltd in Dublin. In November 2015, he joined the ASH Group and successfully managed the Product Management Division Schmidt / Operations Global.

    In June 2017, Johannes Schade was appointed to CPO of the ASH Group.

    Johannes Schade, born 1981, is married and has one daughter. He likes to spoil his family and friends with specialties from the grill, he is very attached to his home region and as a passionate footballer he enjoys doing sports.

    Burkhard Ditsche (Chief After Sales Officer)

    After finishing school, Burkhard Ditsche completed a banking apprenticeship at Deutsche Bank, followed by a degree in business administration. He has been part of the after sales business since the mid-90s. His career has primarily been spent in the agricultural technology sector, with positions at Kramp Groep B.V., John Deere (both in the domestic German business and internationally in the EU, CIS and NAME) and Kubota. At Kubota, he successfully transformed the after sales division into one of the key pillars of the company.


    Burkhard Ditsche assumed the role of Chief After Sales Officer at the ASH Group on 1 June 2018.


    Burkhard Ditsche, born in 1967, enjoys rollerblading, hiking and skiing in his free time, as well as travelling to far-off countries. He also tries to make time for playing the piano whenever possible.

    Jochen Schneider (COO)

    Jochen Schneider

    Jochen Schneider studied economics at the Technische Hochschule Darmstadt. After completing his studies, the certified industrial engineer (MBA) held various international executive functions. From September 2004 to February 2011, he was in charge of the technical management of Faun Umwelttechnik GmbH & Co KG within the Kirchhoff Group as CTO and additionally took over the worldwide management of Faun Trackway as CEO in 2008; from March 2011, he was responsible for the establishment of the North American market as the CEO of Faun North America.

    In April 2012, Jochen Schneider was appointed as the manager of the Schmidt Division within the ASH Group.

    Since 01/10/2016 he is responsible for the production in Germany, Netherland, Poland, Norway and the US as well as for the central departments of product management, development, purchase, logistics and quality management.

    Jochen Schneider, born 1962, is married and father of 3 children. He spends his spare time skiing or riding his motorbike.

    Marco Studer (CEO Switzerland)

    Marco Studer, who holds a degree in automobile engineering from the University of Applied Science and an MBA from the University of St. Gallen, joined the Aebi Schmidt Group in August 2008 as Head of Assembly in the Aebi Division. During the previous eight years, Mr Studer held various management positions in the commercial vehicles division of Mercedes Benz.

    Marco Studer has taken over the operative management of the Aebi & Co. AG Maschinenfabrik as Chief Operating Officer on 1 January 2010.

    Since 1 October 2016, in his position as COO Operation Switzerland, he is responsible for the areas production, product management, development, purchasing, logistics and quality management.

    Since 1 Jannuary 2018, besides his function as CEO Switzerland, Marco Studer will be responsible for the general management of LSO Switzerland as well as the worldwide distribution of Aebi products.

    Within this function he is Marco Studer, born 1976, is married and father of 2 daughters. He spends his spare time sportive in playing handball and skiing.
